I have put one on four different 100 series (160, 175, 180, 185) with similar ‘no start’ problems and it has either fixed or (so far) prevented that problem. It is a known “feature” of the late 80s 100 series machines. Current Deere Herd:John Deere 318 won't start. So beginng of the year my 318 wasn't turning over. I'd get lights on the dashboard but it wouldn't even turnover. I'd turn the key a few times then it would finally fire up. I'd go in for a break and come out and it would always fire right up the first time. Let it sit a week and go out and again, It will not turn over.

When I try to start it you can hear the starter relay clicking but nothing happens. I verified it's in neutral, pto off, brake on etc etc.
